Internship & Student Teaching
Students may elect to complete the traditional 12-week student teaching assignment by enrolling in EDUC 4186 Student Teaching in the Elementary School. Student placements will be done through the Field Supervisor at the corresponding Educational Center or Site, where the student is completing coursework.
Students opting to graduate without student teaching will not be eligible for Texas teacher certification until completing a 12-week student teaching assignment or seeking a two-semester internship position in a Texas P-12 school. Students with an internship position also need to enroll in EDUC 4923 Elementary Internship for two semesters.
It is the student's responsibility to review the material in the handbooks prior to contacting the Field Supervisor.
