Admission Requirements
Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Texas Teacher Certification
Students must meet the following admissions requirements:
- Applicants must have an overall GPA of 2.00 in previous high school or college academic work. Only grades of C or above in college-level work will be considered for transfer.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicants whose native language is not English must submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL ) score. You must attain a score of at least 525 (paper-based), 197 (computer-based), or 71 (Internet based) on the entire test in order to be considered for admission.
- Applicants must be supportive of the Christian mission of LeTourneau University through the integration of the Christian faith with learning.
(ECE Core EC-6 and 4-8)
Applicants must meet all the following EC-6 or 4-8 Core admission requirements:
- Applicants must have an overall GPA of 2.50 in previous college academic work. Only grades of C or above in college-level work will be considered for transfer.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicants must meet the minimum admissions requirements for Early Childhood through 6th Grade or 4th through 8th grade specialization. These requirements are as follows (please note only one test or course per content area below is required):
Reading: THEA (260+) TASP (260 +), ACT (21+), SAT (500+), PRAXIS I (172+), or ACCUPLACER (88+).
Writing: THEA (230+) TASP (260 +), ACT (21+), SAT (500+), PRAXIS I (172+), ACCUPLACER (Sentence Skills 84+ and WRITEPLACER 6+).
Oral Communications: Grade of C or higher in college level Speech/Oral Communications course or DANTES/DSST (Principles of Public Speaking 47+).
Math: THEA (230+) TASP (230 +), ACT (21+), SAT (500+), PRAXIS I (171+), or ACCUPLACER (77+).
Critical Thinking: Show evidence of an overall GPA of 2.50.

For applicants with foreign transcripts, a copy of the original transcript will be accepted, preferably with an English translation. Transcripts, however, must be evaluated course by course by either Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), World Education Services, Inc. (WES), or SpanTran Educational Services, Inc. before evaluation and processing by LeTourneau University.
